R.A.A.P. pays out 2006 Broadcast and Public Performance Royalties
Wednesday 16th May - R.A.A.P. made it's 2006 Domestic distribution payout to Irish Performers,
monies from the broadcast and public performance of sound recordings on
Irish airwaves and Irish Disco’s and Nightclubs was paid out to more than 1300 Irish Performer.
German Royalty Claims Deadline
Members who believe they have had Album sales in Germany in 2006 should contact R.A.A.P.
before the end of May to ensure that they claim their royalty payments from Germany.
R.A.A.P. pays out over 3 million euro in 2005 to Artists
R.A.A.P. has paid out in excess of 3 million euro to Performers in 2005, the organisation is delighted with the results to date but is anxious that Artists who have played on sound recordings, register their contributions to ensure that they receive their monies.
The money is due to Artists when a commercially produced sound recording that they have contributed to has been broadcast on commercial radio or played as background music in Hotels, Bars etc.
The contribution to the sound recording means any Artist including a session musician who performed on the studio recording.

R.A.A.P. makes 1.3 million euro pay out to Members.
16th May 2005 - Recorded Artists and Performers made a distribution to its members of more
than 1.3 million euro from public broadcast and public performance in Ireland
for 2004 and from monies collected in Austria, Brazil, Germany, Holland, Italy,
Japan and the United States.
This is the single biggest payment to date and a further distribution will
be made in December from monies collected from International territories.
R.A.A.P. makes two distributions annually, the May payout is mainly for Domestic
performance and the December payment includes monies collected overseas.
The Directors have announced the date for the Annual General Meeting to the
held at the Beacon Hotel, Sandyford Business Region, Dublin 18, for Friday
17th June at 11-30a.m.
Ciaran Tourish joins the Board of R.A.A.P
Renowned Tin Whistle and Fiddle player and member of the internationally
celebrated Irish Trad band Altan, Ciaran Tourish has joined the board of Recorded
Artists and Performers Ltd.
R.A.A.P Welcomes First Payments from Brazil
This is the first payment to any Performer's Society in Europe
and we are delighted that following our reciprocal agreement we have opened
up this market for Broadcast Royalties;, stated Eanna Casey, Chief Executive
of Recorded Artists and Performers
R.A.A.P will make a distribution to members on December 20th for broadcast income collected in Brazil, Denmark, Germany, Holland, Japan, Spain, Sweden, United Kingdomand the United States.
Nov 15 2004 : RAAP calls for extension of the Artists Term of Protection
As part of the review of the Term of Protection Directive (Dir.93/98/EEC),
Recorded Artists and Performers has in a submission to the European Commission
called for an extension of the Terms of Protection for Artists from the current
50 years to that enjoyed in the United States 95 years.
Extending the term of protection will bring Member States into line with
developments worldwide and show a real commitment to nurturing creativity
and creating a solid business environment for investment in local culture.
This is the type of proactive actions that must be taken now to protect Europe's music future.
2003 :R.A.A.P. pays out almost 2 million euro to Performers in 2003
"During 2003 Recorded Artists and Performers paid out almost euro 2 million to artists from the public broadcast of sound recordings. The bulk
of it (over 1.2 million euro) was paid to Irish artists, with monies collected
in Ireland, Belgium, Denmark, Germany, Holland, Japan, Spain, Sweden, the United Kingdom and the United States.";
the chairman of R.A.A.P. Paddy Cole announced today.
The organisation paid out over 700,000 euro from broadcast income collected in Ireland to performers from eleven foreign territories.
In 2004, Recorded Artists and Performers expects to have at least eleven more territories paying monies to Irish artists; these are Austria, Canada, Croatia, France, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Poland, Romania, Russia, and Switzerland.
R.A.A.P.'s major priorities in 2004 include protecting its members'rights within Ireland and abroad by continuing to sign International agreements, and by chasing territories in Europe where monies collected for artists are not being passed on to the rights holders. Already in January, R.A.A.P. has made an official complaint to the Norwegian Government concerning the activities of Gramo, the Norwegian performers'; organisation.

R.A.A.P. supports Actions against Illegal File-Sharing
15th November 2005 - R.A.A.P fully endorses the legal action by IRMA against "serial filesharers"
in Ireland who illegally make copyrighted music available on the Internet.
Online music piracy is selfish, illegal and damaging, having a direct
negative impact on the economic welfare of Recording Artists and Performers. No
industry can be expected to allow illegal activities to continue unchallenged.
The unauthorised uploading of copyrighted music is being confronted vigorously
by IRMA, and R.A.A.P. is fully
committed to protecting its members' moral and economic rights through these actions

In September we concluded an agreement with the Japanese performers organisation CPRA.
R.A.A.P. made a distribution in May to Irish Artists for 2002 broadcast income.
R.A.A.P. will make a second distribution in late December for income collected from around the World for 2002 broadcast income for our members.

R.A.A.P. makes first Distributions- on Friday 26th of April
Recorded Artists and Performers made its first Distribution to Irish Artists under the New
Legislation, this was the first of three made in 2002 for 2001 Broadcast Income and from claims made to Foreign Societies.
R.A.A.P. joins SCAPR- to promote International Co-operation and strengthen our Members Rights, R.A.A.P. joined SCAPR, the Societies Council for the Collective Management of Performer's Rights in May 2002.
R.A.A.P. signs First International Reciprocal Agreement-September 18th 2001 Recorded Artists and Performers signed its first International Reciprocal Agreement with the Belgium Performers Organisation URADEX and has to date signed Reciprocal Agreements with Performer Societies in Austria, Croatia, Denmark, Germany, Holland, Italy, Romania, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, U.K. and the United States.
