Ireland welcomes European Commission proposal to extend term of protection for performers and producers in sound recordings to 95 years"
The Irish music industry welcomed today(16th July 2008) the European Commission's initiative to equalise the EU term of protection on sound recordings with the United States, which provides protection for 95 years

has delivered this landmark decision not just for Irish artists but for the whole
community of European artists".
